This is a picture of my great grandma, Nerlie Woods! I remember visiting her in the hills of West Virginia as a young girl! She was a soft, yet tough woman, that endured many hardships. She is a person I admire!
My name is Mrs. Holliday. I have been married to my husband, Tom, for 36 years. We live in rural Medaryville, at the farm my husband grew up on. We have four children, Jenelle (Scott) Owens, Kyndra Holliday, Chase (Cinthia) Holliday, and Chance Holliday. We have five grandchildren, Brynlee Owens, Aspyn Owens, Lakyn Owens, Rhaylea Holliday, Jagger Skalon. Chase and Cinthia will bless us with a grandson in November. Brynlee, Aspyn and Rhaylea are students at St. Augustine.
I graduated from Boone Grove High School, 1982, completed my undergraduate studies at Indiana University, 1997, and received my Master's from Indiana Wesleyan, 2009. I have been teaching for thirteen years, all at St. Augustine. The first ten years I was in second grade. I then moved into first grade for two years. I am now in third grade and very excited for this new adventure! I did not start my official career until my youngest son started school, 2006.
I love to travel and go on adventures! I enjoy county fairs, camping, and warm weather! I like to experiment in the kitchen and to craft and sew. I cook many things from scratch, especially biscuits taught to me by my grandma. I enjoy marching bands, college football, and I LOVE baseball! I love baseball so much I don't even have a favorite team. I just enjoy the game! Much of this sounds like what my youngest, Chance, enjoys, and it is! He has taught me many things and allowed me to have some wonderful experiences.
I have wanted to teach since I was a young girl. Every day is an adventure. I learn as much from my students as I hope they learn from me. I love a challenge and am willing to make the changes and experiment with different methodologies so that all my students can have the best learning adventure!
