Practice Page 39: Tear out and complete. Remember, when you are trying to figure out which word goes in the blank you can break apart the contraction. Say, "you are" and see if that makes sense in the sentence. Say, "we are" and see if that makes sense in the sentence.
Practice Page 40: Tear out and complete. You will glue these onto a seperate sheet of paper, from your yellow envelope. I want you to write the name under each picture. This will help you figure out if the sound is -aw or -all. Here are the words to write under the pictures, left to right.
1. wall 2. yawn 3. ball 4. fall 5. saw 6. paw 7. straw 8. draw 9. call
I Ready

EWTN Kids
1.Click on the candle at the top left to send a prayer petition. A Petition is making a plea for a specific need or for something significant requested of GOD. It would be something that you cannot get or accomplish without GOD'S help and you ask HIM to make it happen for you or for others. Please pray for all those who are out in the weather. Be thankful you are safe and warm inside.
2.Do a good deed for your parents. It has been a long 5 days with no school. Try to think of something that will make them smile. This might just be a hug and a thank you for all the help they have given you. You could do a chore without being asked. You could play a game with a brother or sister and give your parents a break. Maybe you could go play or read by yourself and let them have some quiet time. Do this good deed with love and a prayer.

Music! Let's keep with this theme! This will be some of your reading, science, and social studies!
ReadWorks
Listen to the story and answer the questions.
Music in Your Ear
Question 8: You do not have to do this. Instead, click on the button, EARS IN ACTION, to see your ears in action!
SEE ME (What I write on the board at school when you have a lesson to redo.)
1.Some of you I reassigned yesterday's ReadWork lesson, as your scores were not very good. I realize this one is not read to you and that is okay. Read it with a partner and then read it again. As you move onto second grade everything will not be read to you. You will have to read and reread on your own.
2. Please go back through your ReadWork assignments and be sure you submitted your answers. I don't have all them submitted. Thank you for helping me with this.

Explore! I found this website, Classics for Kids! I really enjoyed listening to the different composers. My favorite games are Match the Rhythm and Instruments of the Orchestra. Click on the buttons below and listen to some music, play some games, learn about hearing aides, and learn some sign language. Sign language is how people who are deaf communicate with others. While doing so, think about how wonderfully created we are to have ears to hear. Then, think of those whose ears don't work like ours. But don't feel sorry for them. God has given talents to people to create ways to help them! It is all very amazing when you think about it!
I could not decide which sign language video to choose. I decided I would let you choose! The first one teaches the ABCs with the words at the end of the song. The second one teaches the ABCs and tests you to see what you remember. You can watch them both and decide which is your favorite!
