Today is about ice! 1. Get a piece of lined paper from your yellow envelope. 2. Write "Ice" and your name at the top. 3. Get two cups of ice, be sure to have the same amount of ice in each cup. 4. On your paper write how long you think it will take for the ice to melt. 5. On your paper write which you think will melt faster: Just the ice in a cup or a cup with one tablespoon of salt poured on it? 6. Pour one tablespoon of salt on top of the ice in one cup. 7. Start the timer. 8. Write (record) how long it took for each cup of ice to melt. 9. Write (record) which one melted faster? 10. Why do you think it melted faster? Your family can help you with this. You can watch the video below. There are some big science thoughts but I think you will enjoy it! |
