The week is half over and I am just now getting to this week's page! I apologize. It has, overall, been a normal, calm week! We have had our regular homework of Backpack pages and Reading folder. The weather has been up and down, but, I believe the bottom is going to drop out next week!
Feathers were sent home tonight. Please, as a family, write down the things you are thankful for.
We are moving along, rather rapidly, through math. Today we started families of ten. This will be the last chapter of this type of math. Following a quick review of math signs and the facts we know, we will begin adding and subtracting to twenty.
We continue working on reading fluency. We are working on our first big writing project. This project brings together the parts of speech along with good sentences and complete thoughts.
Our Superkid workbook is starting to asking questions that require us to write in answers from what we read. It is also giving us 2-3 step directions. The students are learning to read the directions to know what they need to do and not rely completely on me telling them step by step.
Science and Social Studies continues to be cross curriculum with our SuperKids program.
Religion has moved from all the Saints to getting ready for the holiday season and Advent.
The Christmas program is December 18th. The singing of the songs have already begun. Students will be wearing all black again this year. If you have questions or concerns about this, please let me know.
We continue integrating spanish in our classroom. The students have spanish class on Fridays. This week they will be learning about the colors.
As you can see, we are moving right along. The holiday season is an exciting and distracting time. Please help me keep them focused!
