WEATHER
Please be sure your child is dressed properly for the weather. Often, when the weather states it will be in the 70's, that does not happen until late afternoon. Your child should dress for what it is like in the morning when they leave. We can always take off hats and heavy jackets, if it gets warm, but, we don't have access to extras if they are not here to begin with.
CLASSROOM CLIMATE
I keep the classroom cool and often crack the window for fresh air. This helps with germs and staying alert. Students are welcome to keep an uniform appropriate sweater, sweatshirt, or fleece, on their chair or in their cubby.

What a beautiful start to the day! The sun is shining. The glow is reflecting from the newly harvested fields around my house. The trees have a slight splash of color, brining on the changing season! I love mornings like this!
Last week definitely got away from me! The late night of Parent/Teacher conferences, being gone on Thursday, and leaving early on Friday, just let time go too fast! Thank you for your patience. I spent Thursday, celebrating my youngest's birthday! He was on fall break and I did not want him to spend it home alone. Friday night was Senior Night for him, as he completes 6 years of high school band. He will celebrate again, come February, with his final pep band performance. It is a busy and exciting time for the Holliday family!
This week will be our short week because of our fall break! We will have our spelling test on Thursday!

Book It--The Book It Calendar for October is coming home today. To receive a free personal pan pizza coupon, your child needs to read 6 of the remaining 11 days, for 20 minutes each day, for October only. Your child must read 20 minutes for 20 days for each of the remaining five months. The reading may be done independently, as partners, or you may read to your child. I would really like for the reading to be done outside of homework reading, but, understand this might not always be an option. I will set a due date for the calendar. The calendar must be returned, signed, by the due date, for the completed six month certificate, at the end of the program. If you happen to lose the calendar, a signed note, stating the reading was completed, will be accepted. If you have any questions, please ask.
