Dear Parents,
Okay! Here is the final decision! It is our thought that the students need to keep learning! Please check the Weebly page for updates.
Upon return, if that is April 6th, please have the following completed. This will allow you to work at your own pace.
Word Workbook-- completed through page 102. You will need to tear out the page, How To Plant Carrots, to make the book. Just stick it back in the workbook so it does not get lost.
Decodable Reader read pages 137-164. Break this reading into parts, according to page 137. Read the word list, several times, till your child is comfortable with the words.
Math Instruction--complete pages 145-161. You can use beans, pennies, erasers, buttons, etc…. for counters.
Math Practice and Problem Solving--completed through pages 203-224.
Please note: The lessons in the two math books line up with each other.
Journal--Please write at least 2 times a week.. Share what you are doing while we are away. Please write 5-8 sentences. Be sure to use good handwriting, capital letters and end marks, and check your spelling. Be sure to spell words you know correctly. Reread your sentences to make sure they make sense.
Read--Read for at least 20 minutes, daily. We want to keep those skills moving forward. Read aloud to your siblings, parents, grandparents, or even your pets. They are going to love the extra attention.
You can always work on daily living skills. For example: telling time, keeping a calendar, counting money, laundry, family chores, cooking a recipe, making a list or plan.
I want to stress, please don’t worry or panic. All materials will be reviewed and retaught, often, as we always do. I am confident we are all going to fine and maybe even better than we were before! (Refer back to the beginning of this letter where I mentioned family dinner and boardgames!)
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Prayers and Blessings! Mrs. Holliday
