WE JUST CAME BACK FROM OUR WALK TO THE LIBRARY! IT IS BEAUTIFUL OUTSIDE!
DISABILITY AWARENESS MONTH
This is a month that is very dear to my heart. My son, Chance, pictured above, has Down Syndrome. He has never let it get in his way nor have I let others tell him he can't do something. We all have challenges. We all deserve the opportunity to show we can, no matter what those challenges might be! It should never be assumed we can't!
This month we will talk about acceptance and inclusion. World of Wonders will share some information about being kind. On Thursday, March 5th, my dear friend, Mr. Tom Felter, will present his program, The Emily Talk, originally created to teach medical personal how to handle situations involving people with special needs. Emily is Tom's daughter, who also has Down Syndrome. He has recently created the program to include peers. I am very excited to have him visit with our students!

Did you look at your child's reading fluency graph? Many were very impressed with their improvement. Hopefully, this helps prove the point we can't just read it once.

This is one of my favorite inspirational videos! We will watch this during class. I have put it here so your student can share it with you!

Reading Folder Backpack Page Book It--Due Thursday! This is the last day I will take them. Yes, I said due today, but, I only have 2! I know there has to be more out there! We had a great day swimming today. We have made many improvements since the first day! Next week will be our last week! We have a lot of runny noses and coughs. Please remember if your child has had a fever or vomiting in the past 24 hours, they need to stay home. Also, sometimes they are sick, too tired, and miserable, even without a fever. Please keep them home. |
